  • Design form GUI: A view for keeping track of design form specifications and their corresponding instances.
  • Extended OCL support: Extending the OCL support to be able to express constraints related to the whole pattern instance.
  • Improved highlighting of patterns: elements cross-cutting multiple design concerns are marked with a special color.
  • Pattern viewer: Viewing a pattern instance in separate diagram.
  • Adding support for UML interface to the automatic binding feature.

NOTE: This version requires JRE 1.5 and RSA 6.0.1 for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.

JavaFrames makes the Eclipse platform to be an architecture-oriented programming environment that supports object-oriented Java frameworks as well as architectural standards and conventions by the means of programming tasks. In JavaFrames, a set of patterns is used to describe the required specialization of a framework, while the tool takes these patterns as input and produces small and practical programming tasks as output. If the programmer violates some pattern specifications, and in that way the frameworks specialization rules, a repair task is generated to fix the situation.

To install JavaFrames, remove ealier versions (if any) from the Eclipse's "plugins" directory and unzip the installation package to that directory. Launch Eclipse and open the JavaFrames Guide by selecting it with the "Help/Help Contents" menu command; you should go through the tutorial. Open the JavaFrames perspective with the "Window/Open Perspective/Other..." menu command to start using JavaFrames.

NOTE: This version requires JRE 1.4 and Eclipse 3.0 for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. See www.eclipse.org to download Eclipse.
